Floor? What Floor?

|

It just isn't fair. How are we lefty bloggers supposed to keep finding clever new ways to say that Bush has tanked, or gone through the floor, when he is tanking and plummeting and going into the basement with such alacrity?

Holden gets a pony, again:

Beset by political and economic troubles at home and a difficult war in Iraq, President Bush's job approval rating has slipped to 39% [58& disapproval-- matt], the lowest measure of his presidency, according to a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll.

Bush, whose approval rating hit 55% shortly after he was re-elected last November, has been below 50% approval since May. But this marks the first time he has fallen below 40%, a level that until now had been his floor.

Bush was at 45% approval in the Gallup poll in September-- a slide of 6 points.

I guess Brownie did such a heck of a job, it sorta stuck in people's minds.

Chris Bowers does a roundup of all the polls this month. Even Fox tops out at 40% approval.
